Email Inbox Zero?

Merlin Mann, of 43 folders, in this presentation to Google employees discusses ways to keep one's email inbox empty. Good enough advice, but from a technical communication perspective, we think that good email writers make it clear to the recipient(s) what to do with your email: read & delete (what we think of as an FYI-email); delegate; respond; defer; or do. It's a verb-based approach to email maintenance.
